Dr. Bruce Champagne
I liked his name, and he came recommended, so I went to the doctor today. I got an EKG to check my heart. It has been pounding out of my chest randomly for the past few months. Looks like I'm healthy though. I just have to check my heart rate when I have an episode, and get more sleep. But if it keeps up, I will either go to a cardiologist, or ask him to just get me some Xanax. My vote is for the latter.

I went to the doctor for repeated episodes of chest pain earlier this year, and had to get all sorts of random tests. Turns out I'm healthy, too...just anxious. After it happened, I learned that a lot of people I know have had similar things happen to them. Hang in there.
thanks eva. I talked to the doctor and he said I have anxiety is all. It runs in my family so I'm not surprised. I'm trying to learn to fix it by sleeping more and having healthier thought patterns, but its hard. What did you do to help with it?
Well, to help me get through the especially stressful time that I was going through, I took the Atarax that the doctor prescribed me. I only took it if I felt the panicky, weird feeling in my chest, and it would calm me down, but also make me really drowsy. Lately, I've been feeling much better, and I haven't taken it in months. Exercising helps me a lot, as does the fact that we moved back to Utah and have lots of friends and family around, and the fact that Kirk is now working with me full time so I don't feel nearly as overwhelmed with work stuff. And yes, I make a point to get 7 1/2 - 8 hours of sleep almost every night. If I ever feel myself start to get worked up, I stop and take deep breaths and just concentrate on the breathing and tell myself that whatever it is that I'm worrying about is not the end of the world. Easier said than done, but it helps.
p.s. I hung out with Roxy last night. She's so great. Next time you come out here, we should all hang out.
